The NDIS sector is facing a fast-paced and complex reform.
We are facing low morale,  rapid business closures and high levels of quality staff leaving the sector in droves.

If you couldn’t be in the room, this is your chance to catch up on the conversations and strategies shaping the future.

Your clearest roadmap in a reform year, this Online Summit is human, honest, and immediately usable.

What’s inside?

Opening Welcome: centres community, psychological safety, and sustainable business so you can tune out the noise and lean into change with purpose.

Reality & the NDIS Beast: why similar needs receive wildly different plans, why a consistent needs-assessment approach is vital, and how small, community-rooted providers drive real outcomes.

My Business Rules: a small-business playbook—sharpen your model, formalise partnerships, embed right-sized quality, and treat profit as the resource that funds people, teams, and compliance.

Reform & Compliance (with Justine’s reform pathway): joins the dots from the Tune Review → legislative changes → 2023 Independent Review → what’s landed since (funding periods, foundational supports/Thriving Kids) → what’s next (registration pathways and the Commission’s live priorities)—turning policy into everyday practice.

Future-facing talks: Sam Boag re-centres families and everyday settings (Thriving Kids/Preschool Boost), shows where near-term opportunities and tenders sit, and how to pivot to strengths-based practice; Allison Nikula shows how to lead innovation inside tight rules—piloting quickly, measuring what matters, collaborating locally, and scaling what works.

“My life, my way” (Matthew): anchors everything in capability, choice, and listening first so improvements land where they matter.

Expect concrete steps, checklists, and renewed confidence—value for money that means fewer missteps, faster decisions, and actions you can implement on Monday.

“The NDIS sector is at a crossroads and today’s State of the Nation Summit SA made that crystal clear.

My top 5 takeaways:
  • The NDIS must shift from focusing on deficits to building on people’s strengths.
  • Children should not have to miss school and pay for therapy; the system has become too medicalised.
  • Values are the compass for business growth, with wellbeing and education of staff at the core.
  • Quality systems and values-based recruitment are non-negotiable.
  • Profit is a resource; it should be reinvested, alongside diversification and strong partnerships.”
Bec Rodman
Senior Leader, Strategic Growth & Partnerships
“Last week, I had the privilege of attending Cassie Day’s NDIS State of the Nation Summit and I’m still processing the power of what I witnessed. Hearing her son Matthew speak was incredibly moving, as he bravely stepped into the spotlight to share his lived experience. His words were a powerful reminder inclusion isn’t a concept, it’s a lifeline. This wasn’t just a summit. It was a turning point.”
April Hobbs
Storyteller & Advocate
“Hosted by the remarkable Cassie Day, the Summit carried her signature blend of authenticity, vision, and lived experience. We walked away with a renewed appreciation for human-centred innovation, and hope that sustainable, person-first care is not just possible, it’s happening. A heartfelt thank you to Cassie, her family, the speakers, and everyone who came together. We left not only inspired but also more committed than ever to turning these insights into action.”
Evida Living Team
“This impactful event was real and refreshing. We had the opportunity to hear perspectives of both providers and participants, which provided 3 key takeaways:
  • 15 out of 16 disability support providers are NOT NDIS registered – which is a significant compliance gap when working with some of the most vulnerable communities.
  • People led, values focused – innovation must be people-led.
  • ‘We are stronger together’ – meaningful partnerships can have a lasting impact in a time where providers are struggling more than ever. Thank you Cassie Day for delivering an excellent event.”
Jake Culkin
Director, Inclusive Carers
“Extraordinary, inspiring, straight-talking and practical. Cassie Day has done it again, on an even greater scale with 215+ participating NDIS Providers and Business Professionals at the Summit! Real talk. Real strategy. Real solutions.”

Hi, I'm Cassie

I’m Cassie Day - businesswoman, speaker and care economy leader.. My journey began as a mum and carer to a son with complex health and disability needs, which led me to found The Carers Place, one of South Australia’s leading independent Support Coordination Agencies.

After building it into a thriving business and later selling it, I turned my focus to supporting business owners and leaders across the Care Sectors to grow, scale, and create meaningful impact.

Through the State of the Nation Summits, I bring providers, leaders, and innovators together for real conversations, practical strategies, and sustainable solutions.

Recognised by Women’s Agenda, Radio 5AA, Channel 9, and ABC Radio, and awarded the 2024 Carer Achievement Award, my mission is simple:
to share lessons, shape futures, and drive meaningful change in the care economy.
